Struck out yesterday evening
We'll I went below the Old Hickory dam on the Cumberland River after work and fished until about 30min after sunset. Ended up getting in right at 2 hrs of fishing. Not a bite, nothing. This is the 1st time in 8 trips 37hrs on the water this year tha a fish was not caught.
I'm going above the dam this evening to see if I can catch something.
Anyone is welcome to join if they want I'll be at the ramp/gravel parking lot just before 4pm.

Good luck, it is windy as HELL out there. I think my power boat is going to blow down the road. The cover is catching the wind like a sail!

I've caught nice bass this winter fishing there. I usually paddle to the other side of that cove and fish all that brush and grass.

I skipped out on fishing. I was planning on going and had a guy follow me to my house, he ended up being an outdoors writer, and had some questions for me. By the time we were done taking the wind had shown it's butt, and I figured I better put up the gear, vaccum, clean the windows, coffe tables, and stove top. I was going to do that after fishing, but I know I would have tried to put it off.

It will be a big article a couple magazine pages. It looks like it will take weeks, or a month and then to publication so it might be a while before it comes out, but I'll get TKA in there. It's a nation wide outdoor sporting publication.

He saw me on Old Hickory Blvd with the stickers all over the truck, and Pro Angler in the bed, and he followed me to my house. I didn't know what was about to happen so I was leary about pulling into my driveway but thought o'well. I hopped out of the truck and started walking toward his cautiously, and he introduced himself and asked if I fished out of the kayak, and I laughed and said " who would do such as crazy thing as to fish from a small piece of plastic?" We chatted from there, and he's been asking me for some pics so he can see if I'm qualified enough (that's my thought). He's happy with the pictures, and he wants to start next week.
